The Spin, 2022

This Painting is an interpretation of an art piece that contained circular rings on a square canvas. It reminded me of a poem by Molana (Rumi) that said: دنیا همه هیچ و اهل دنیا همه هیچ”
ای هیچ برای  هیچ بر هیچ مپیچ” meaning: the world is nothing and what is in it is also nothing, oh you, nothing, don’t spin around nothing for nothing. In this painting I tried to portrait that spinning with the colors of a photo reference of someone performing a Sama dance (a dance that is done with Rumi poetry with spinning so that the dancer reaches a harmony with the world that is also spinning). There are 7 layers of color on this canvas, representing the 7 required steps of reaching the leave of understanding the meaning and  prepose of life in Persian literature and  philosophy and the black rectangular in the middle is representing the strict  nothingness of what we are spinning around.
